Here at Emma-Kate I support my people, my community and all of New Zealand by continuing to retreat inside my home over the coming weeks. My clinic locations are unable to open until we reach Alert Level 2.

Please continue to follow me on social media for updated information. I'll be in touch as soon as I have an opening date for in-clinic massage and mindfulness. I'm certainly missing seeing and treating you in-person.

Morning Mindfulness Ritual

Greet the day with a heartfelt intention...

I’ve talked before about the power of our mindset. Leading into Isolation I made a conscious decision we wouldn’t use this word inside our home, we would simply call it “self-retreat.”

Being on self-retreat has given me the time and grace to figure out me again - to question what is and isn’t working for me, and to do more of the positive. I’ve appreciated the gift of sitting in meditation, connecting and feeling.  Through this process I've developed a new morning ritual – a beautiful way to greet the day with a heartfelt intention.

I love you Mum...

If you’re fortunate to have your Mum with you, near you or within virtual reach this Mother’s Day – show her how much you love her. Have her favourite morning brew waiting for her or cook her a delicious meal if she’s in your bubble. If she’s not within arm’s reach, call her for a simple “Mum, I love you and I can’t wait to hug you.”

Until next time, I’d like to remind you of a thought I’ve shared with you before –

When you can’t control what’s happening, challenge yourself to control the way you respond to what’s happening. That’s where you power is.

For me, I still find myself amongst nature in my backyard. It is a place where I can self-calm, ground my body and mind, and remind myself to breathe in each moment as it comes and to breathe out the stresses I can’t control.

I continue to surround myself safely, and virtually, with the people I love. Connection is still alive and beautiful.
